Pickering is the perfect bolthole to visit the amazingly varied & stunning landscape of the North York Moors National Park, which includes the Moors, Dalby & Cropton Forests and twons such as Whitby, Scarborough, Filey & Bridlington along the Yorkshire coast.

The rugged East Yorkshire coast has some fantastic villages and towns from Scarborough with its traditional seaside attractions and arcades to the gothic town of Whitby made famous by Bram Stokers Dracula. Whitby is also an ancient port with a fascinating history, a ruined abbey and some of the best fish and chips in the world! 
 
There are plenty of spots to soak up some culture locally too in beautiful statley homes such as Castle Howard, Scampston Hall and Sledmere.
